Real de Banjul secured a 4-1 thumping victory over city rivals Banjul United on the final matchday of the league but unfortunately missed out on second position.
Ebrima Singhateh and Modou Lamin Demba gave the City Boys a two-goal lead after the first half before wing-wizard Kajally Drammeh made it three in the second.
Banjul United pulled one back but Modou Lamin Demba extended our lead to 4-1 and in the process completing his brace.

The record twelve-time champions turned their attention to finishing second place on the GFF league table, which would’ve enabled the team qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers after Fortune FC scooped the league.
The Whites were second with three games of the season to spare but the defeat to arch-rivals Wallidan FC saw Elite United leapfrog Bye Malleh Wadda’s side to second on goal difference after beating champions Fortune FC 3-0 on the penultimate games of the season.

The City Boys went to the last game of the season with their faith barely in the Elite United vs Hawks game as they were six goals adrift of Elite.
Unfortunately, Elite United edged Hawks FC 1-0 at the Jarra Soma mini stadium with the City Boys beating Banjul United 4-1, a result that only represented signing off the season on a high note, as Elite finished second thanks to their goal difference superiority.
Bye Malleh couldn’t attend the game and Abdoulie Njie, Real de Banjul goalkeeper trainer deputized him in the post-match interview and said: “It was a very good performance from the boys despite the difficult conditions (under the rain), we were able to control the game and played to our game plan.”
“We were not scoring many goals during the season, so when we heard that Elite United won, we couldn’t be happy because they have a better goal margin than us. So, this (scoring goals) is an area we need to look at for next season. There is a lot of positives to take from the season though, so we come back better prepared for next season.”
Real de Banjul won 11 games, lost 6, and drew 9 games. The team also scored 26 goals and conceded 19 for the season.
