Two familiar faces in former stars Alassana Jatta and James Gomez visited the new Real de Banjul secretariat dubbed Kerr Real on Wednesday, 23rd December. The Denmark-based duo, who are currently on holidays, were received by club president William Abraham and second vice president Bakary K. Jammeh. James and Alassana were taken on a tour of the club’s new headquarters, Kerr Real. “We are really happy to welcome you to the club secretariat named Kerr Real,” Willy told the visiting players. “It feels good to see you all doing well at your various clubs and for you to visit the club shows that you still belong in the Real de Banjul family.” The two players were full of praise for the club and the investments being made by the club owners. “We are excited to be back home,” said Viborg striker Alassana Jatta. “We’re proud of the club and the developments are really great.” “The club is making tremendous strides on and off the pitch.” “Kerr Real is a massive investment and it shows the work being done here,” Jatta added. James Gomez was also impressed with the new club house and for him it was a double delight after signing a three-year contract with Danish Superliga side AC Horsens. “The building [secretariat] is massive and this is another testament that Real de Banjul is the leading club in the Gambia.” “We’re very happy to visit the club and say hello to familiar faces – We wish the club the very best always,” said the Gambia U-20 captain. James captained the Young Scorpions to glory at the WAFU A U-20 tournament in Senegal and booked a place at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania.

Real de Banjul is delighted to announce the permanent transfer of Young Scorpions captain James Gomez to Danish side AC Horsens. The defender has signed a three-year contract with the Yellow Danger after initially joining them on loan. The 19 year old penned his contract this week ahead of the Danish Superliga’s Christmas break. “I had hoped that I would sign a new contract after the loan, and I am very happy to stay at the club,” an excited James told Horsens club website. “The teammates have always treated me well and are like a family to me, for which I am grateful. “I want to work hard and show myself, and in the long run the goal is to play in a bigger league, but in the first place I have to make my mark on the super league team.” Real de Banjul FC president William Abraham is pleased that James secured a deserved long-term deal. “He has done well at Horsens during his loan spell and I believe he deserved a long-term contract with the club,” said Willy. “We have a great relationship with AC Horsens and his [James] performance will further strengthen that. “He is still learning his trade but we are all confident he will be one of the best defenders in the future because he has all the attributes.” The player is represented by Modou Lamin Beyai the CEO and founder of Modoustic PR. “I’m truly happy to see the permanent transfer of James going over the line, it’s been long in the works and should’ve been completed long ago but due to the outbreak of COVID, we had to extend his initial six-month’s stay in Horsens in order for him to prove his worth, which finally he’s done to earn this deal,” Beyai told realdebanjul.com “I want to thank the Real de Banjul management for a good cooperation and I can only say it’s the beginning of a great future for James.” Everyone at the club wishes James Gomez the very best at his new club
