Striker Mustapha Jallow bagged a sublime hattrick to guide Real de Banjul secure a comfortable 3-0 victory over Banjul United in a match played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Wednesday evening.
Jallow was at his blistering best in front of goal after opening the scoring after 12 minutes when he tapped home a low cut back from winger Salifu Colley.

He then volleyed home a second after being picked by another Salifu Colley brilliant assist in the 66th minute before completing his hat-trick with a cool finish in the 87th minute to put the game to bed.
Mustapha said in his post-match comments: “I want to thank my teammates for the trust they have in me and this (my goals and the win) was a collective performance from the team. I want to keep on performing and continue scoring goals to maintain my position in the team”.

Asked what he was thinking when he received the ball from Baboucarr Jobe inside the area to complete his hat-trick, he said: “I know that my left foot is as good as my right foot and if I used my right foot at that angle, the defender would have blocked the ball which is why I preferred to use my left foot”.

The victory over Banjul United cut the points difference to the top to three points before Hawks FC later in the evening defeated Fortune FC to reclaim the six points lead at the top with three games of the season to spare.
The City Boys will be back in action when they will face Brikama United next week Wednesday.
