The supremos of our Estonian partner club Paide Linnameeskond have said they’re impressed with the development of our former trio in goalkeeper Ebrima Jarju and forwards Bubacarr Tambedou and Ebrima Singhateh.

The Paide delegation, which comprises of President Veiko Veskimäe, CEO Jaanus Pruuli and Sports Director Gert Kams are currently in the country for a week’s scouting and work mission.

They, together with our Club President, William Abraham and Technical Director, Pa Suwareh Faye, were at the Live Your Dreams Sports Academy on Tuesday to watch training as well as instil some European knowledge.

At the end of Tuesday’s training session, President Abraham accorded them the opportunity to speak to the player and reveal their mission in the country of scouting the next potential batch of players.

Veskimäe, Paide’s President told the players that they should try to emulate their former teammates in Jarju, Tambedou and Singhateh as the trios development evolved quickly since the announcement of the two club’s official partnership.

“I have to say that the first batch of players in Ebrima Singhateh, Bubacarr Tambedou, and Ebrima Jarju are doing well and have already impressed us in Estonia. Our co-operation is about reaching out to your club to help you the players achieve your goals of becoming professional footballers,” Veskimäe said.

“It is how it should work and it started to work quite nicely. We want to bring the European football knowledge here, to your club so, you can already start working here and prepare yourselves for European football. We are looking for new players for the summer window and the next season. We have a list of players. We are monitoring you even when we are not here with the video materials of your games through InStat.”

He added: “What we are looking for is players with the right mentality, professional in their attitude, hardworking players and have the ideas to become real footballers, not lazy ones because you cannot play in Europe if you are a lazy player and that’s why we are always trying to find the right personalities.”

Sports Director Gert Kams also added that he is happy with the development of the trio in Paide and says they’ve adapted really well into their new environs.

“They were chosen last year for several reasons, of course technical, physical and they have adapted really well because it’s not easy to come to Europe with the different culture, different training and a different weather but they’ve adapted really well and are working hard every day.”

“We selected them first because we saw something special in them, they have a good mentality, great technique and an understanding of the game. They are also having minutes in the Premium Liiga (the highest league in Estonia) which is great,” he added.

The City Boys’ President William Abraham meanwhile took the opportunity to advise the players to focus more and work hard in order to achieve their career goals and the club’s goals for the season and long-term desires.

The trios’ quick development in Estonia helped our former goalkeeper and captain Ebrima Jarju earn his first senior Scorpions call up, Bubacarr Tambedou scored six goals in seven outings for Paide’s U21s managing one appearance for the first team while Ebrima Singhateh scored eight goals in total, seven of which were for the U21s.
