Interim Real De Banjul coach Musa Njie says his boy were unlucky against Gambia Armed Forces when the two sides fired blank on Sunday in week 13 of the GFF league one at the Banjul mini stadium. The former Real de Banjul player was appointed as interim head coach following the resignation of Majorr Saine a fortnight ago – he won his first match against GPA at the same ground but saw his charges missed some great opportunities to make it two straight wins on his return to the RDB dugout. “It is not a bad game because we gained a point and we created the better chances but we were unlucky”. Njie told reporters during his post match interview. The Khaki men had a strong first half performance but failed to create any meaningful opportunity against a solid Real De Banjul defense. Njie made two changes that changed the match when Alieu Fadera and Pa Modou Sohna who returned from France came in to added pace and quality to the attack. The duo combined on the hour make to cause mehem in the GAF area when Federa skipped away from two challenges to play in Sohna who was fouled but referee Omar Sallah was not interested. “We made changes because we knew the problems in the first half,” Njie added. “Pa Modou Sohna is a very important player for us and when he came in he was involved straightaway in most of our moves into the GAF area”. “We decided to start him on the bench and get him ready for the second half and he didn’t disappoint and considering he just came two days before we needed him in the second half.” The 13-time Gambian champions now sit at six place with 18 points four behind Wallidan who top the standing after 13 matches. Real will travel to the Box Bar on Friday to play second place Brikama United as the second round gets underway. “We’re in the running because the difference is not that much with the leader (Wallidan) so we will go and prepare well for the second half of the season.” Interim coach Njie emphasized
