New recruits Alhagie Jawara and Remy Mendy were both directly involved as Real De Banjul beat Tallinding United 2-0 to secure the club’s second win of the season. The Whites made two changes to the team that started against Banjul Utd with former Tallinding captain Babou Cham and Saikou Mansally coming in for Kajally Drammeh and Muhamed Sanneh. The host started the better side and nearly had their noises in front inside the opening sixty seconds. A long ball over the top towards the Real area was not dealt with by Mansally but the Tallinding forward failed to punish the defence. On the other end Bubacarr Tambedou who’s starting his second game came close twice when Mansally curled an inviting cross across goal but the youngster failed to guide his first time shot home. Tambedou was again found by the tireless Ebrima Sidibeh again he tried to find a teammate when the goal was at his mercy as the first period ended goalless. Real got the second half under way and looked a more determined side ready to take control and get all three points. Remy Mendy raced through the heart of the Tallinding defence beating the rushing keeper before being fouled by a recovering defender. Alhagie Jawara stepped up to dispatch the spot kick and hand Real De Banjul and deserved lead after 55 minutes. The duo combined for the second goal when Jawara’s well strucked free kick just inside the Tallinding area landed on Remy’s head and went in off the crossbar before nestling in to make it 2-0 with time running out. Abdoulie Kah missed a sitter before Remy made it two when he was played in by Pa Modou Sohna but he failed to hit the target. Tallinding United pushed in the closing stages to reduce the deficit but the Real de Banjul defence of Mbye Faye, Gregory Sambou, Ebrima Sidibeh and Saikou Mansally held on for a clean sheet.

Said second VP Alh Bakary K Jammeh. Jammeh who doubles as the 1st VP of the Gambia Football Federation commended Netpage for partnering the 12-time Gambian champions. “Netpage is coming at a very crucial time for the club and for a number of reasons” “We’re on this journey of professionalizing Real De Banjul not only to be a household name in the Gambia but a sub-regional and global player in football development”. Jammeh emphasized. The CEO of Netpage Simon Abraham is a lifetime Real De Banjul fan and said he’s excited to partner with Real whom he described as the only true football club. “I’ve known RDB from the moment I was born and RDB was there before that and I’ve witnessed matches of the club”. “I would say it is the only team I have recognized in the Gambia as a football club”. Said Simon. “I’ve always recognized Real as one of those teams that has always been very professional, has always been very consistent whether they’re on top of the league or not it has always been that team that has always been close to my heart”. Mr. Abraham explained. “We’re extremely proud to partner with Real and I have a feeling that I would be witnessing a lot of the games personal and hopefully the staffs of the company”. “I don’t think the partnership we have here now for three years is going to be just that I really foresee a much longer partnership than that and I am very confident that the Netpage brand will be upheld in the football club”. The sponsorship will give Netpage the maximum exposure from Real De Banjul with its logo and services branded on all the jerseys of the club and the team buses.
